Jo Anne Wandell Berry's Obituary
Jo Anne Wandell Berry, 88, of Lindon, Utah, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025 in her home.
Born on October 2, 1936, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Alma Jacob and Harriet Kim Wandell. Jo Anne went by the nickname Jodie in her younger years and was the oldest of 4 siblings. She graduated from Granite High School in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Jo Anne married her first husband, Alfred George Woodland, on June 1, 1956 and they had two children, Lorraine and Douglas.
She attended Stevens/Henager School of Business and worked at KSL Radio and TV as an executive secretary. In 1961, she moved to Northridge California and worked in various management positions for Security Pacific National Bank, which later merged with Bank of America. She retired after 27 years and then worked as a realtor.
Jo Anne remarried twice more before meeting the love of her life, Colin Berry. They were married in February of 1978 and were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple. They relocated to South Jordan, Utah in 1995, where they built their dream home and were married for 48 years.
Jo Anne loved to entertain and travel. She served on the executive board for the newcomers club of Salt Lake City for two years. She loved celebrating the holidays with her family and also enjoyed pottery and glass work.
She is proceeded in death by her father: Alma Jacob Wandell, her mother Harriet Kim Matic, Stepfather Joseph Matic, Sisters, Pamela, and Marcy Matic, Geniel Williams, brother Paul Matic, as well as her stepson John Berry.
She is survived by her husband, Colin Berry, and her children: Lorraine Wride (Blake), Douglas Woodland and stepdaughter Teri Fuller, grandchildren: Candice Griffin (Daniel), Matthew Wride, Lisa Blocksage (Dana), Michael Wride, Brianna Jennerjohn, Joshua Fuller, Justin Higuera and Skyler Berry, as well as her great grandchildren children: Elliot Griffin, Kayla and Dylan Blocksage, Macklan and Kayce Fuller.
Jo Anne was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and loved her Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ. A few days before her passing, she stated that she thought her Heavenly Father was calling her home.
Her family is very grateful to everyone who took care of her and for all the love and support that we have been so blessed to receive.
Funeral services for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the LDS chapel located at 3261 South Village Parkway, Saratoga Springs, UT 84045.There will be a viewing held that morning at the church from 10 o’clock to 10:45 AM prior to the services
Jo Anne will be laid to rest at the Riverton City Cemetery located at 1500 W. 13200 S., Riverton, UT following the services, which will also be available to view by Zoom at this link.
