Joan Yvonne Winegar Coombs, 95, passed away peacefully at her home in American Fork, Utah on November 30, 2025. Born March 3, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah, she was the sixth of nine children born to William Sterling Winegar and Pe Read Obituary
Sister Coombs was my 4-H leader for at least 2 years. When I think back on that time, I realize just how much time and effort she put into that. She was always so patient and was a great teacher! I learned many of my cooking skills from her, and I can't make a loaf of banana bread without remembering how she took all of our breads and brownies to the fair to be judged. My warmest condolences go out to the family. I'm truly sorry for your loss.

I met Joan at the humanitarian aid project activities. We would chat while we tied quilts. We bonded over being tall women who loved to sew clothes for our tall selves and our tall daughters. She was telling a story one time and she looked at me and said, "You know that restaurant where you go with your whole family..." I guessed Olive Garden and she goes, "Yes!" and keeps telling her story. So cute and funny! I will miss her so much!!
We're going to miss Mom! She was fun, engaged and loving to the end. The temple was her weekly destination of choice. We're happy for her "graduation" and know the heavenly reunion will be glorious!
