I have wonderful memories of meeting Joel and Merlyn at Utah Symphony | Utah Opera events over the past years, but of course my dearest memories with your family are times I got to spend over the many decades with your daughter Suzanne, my college roommate. We had great times at BYU, at her wedding, and when she lived in SLC we got together for lunch, and to talk about our families and life. How she loved and admired her parents! I am fond of your whole family even though we haven't spent much time together, and I am sorry to hear of your bearing yet another loss. I know also that it's a great thing to live a long life filled with growth and love, and Joel definitely had a good life, one to celebrate. I am certain you are dealing with all the mixed emotions, and my heart goes out to you.

My mom, Lois Van Orden, served with President Leetham and his lovely wife in the Philippines, Quezon City Mission as their mission secretary. Oh, how she loved the Leethams! She talked on and on about them throughout the remainder of her life. I'm sure she is enjoying her reunion with President Leetham now and introducing him to my dad. God bless Leetham Family!

Bishop Leetham was how we knew him. He was our bishop in the College Ward, San Jose, CA. My husband served as his ward clerk until we moved Dec. 1969. I was just a new member of the church and he was our guide with his dear wife. We have such fond memories of both of them. What a joy and blessing to have known both of them. Thank you for sharing them with us those many years ago.
