Johanna Dieckmann Pinkus' Obituary
Love is what keeps you alive even when you are gone. Born 1925 and raised in Germany with 3 brothers and 1 sister. Married Guenter Pinkus in 1946; son Burk was born in 1947 and daughter Lee was born in 1949. Arrived in America in 1954 with hopes and dreams of living in freedom. Loved this country and became a proud citizen in 1959. She lived a simple, Christian life and taught us to have principles, ethics and integrity. By example, we learned to have shiny shoes and shiny homes. She could read 2 books at the same time and remember what she read 10 years ago. She walked an hour everyday no matter how tired or ill she was. Her treadmill will miss her. She was known to knit the best slippers ever. She developed a unique, personal relationship with each grandchild always giving them her time. She never forgot anyone’s birthday and was known as grandma to many. To her family, SHE WAS TIMELESS AND TIRELESS. She left us on March 8 and was laid to rest next to her husband who died in 1974. She is survived by her brother, sister, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. Per her request, no services were held.
