John H Compton Jr's Obituary
John H. Compton, Jr. was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was born in Perry, Florida on December 25, 1948 to John H. Compton, Sr. and Beatrice Lundy Farmer.
He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army and Vietnam veteran. John worked in the logging industry for over 40 years. He loved the logging woods, fishing, FSU football and he was an amazing cook. John passed away peacefully on March 16, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his parents John H. Compton, Sr., Arthur Melvin "Shorty" and Beatrice Farmer; and his brothers Larry Wayne & Arthur Gregory Farmer.
He is survived in death by his wife Ellen Ratliff Compton, six children Amy (Dewayne) Bowden, John M. Compton, Heather (Bobby) Dice, Kevin (Katie) Compton, Jared (Teresa) Compton and Jeremy (Jessica) Compton. He was also survived by 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a sister Evelyn (Butch) Cook.
