John Paul Daley's Obituary
John Paul Daley, age 51, passed away unexpectedly on January 23, 2026, in Layton, Utah. He was born on November 14, 1974, in Payson, Utah, to Blaine Daley and Roberta Valdez. John grew up in Payson and attended Payson High School. He spent much of his working life as a skilled welder in steel fabrication, a trade that reflected his strong work ethic, precision, and dedication.
John was married to the love of his life, Tammie Thompson. She was not only his wife but his best friend of 25 years, and together they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and family.
Above all else, John was a devoted father and grandfather. His children were his pride and joy: Kaymen Jonathan Daley of Herriman, Utah; Savannah Joy Smiles Daley (Jayden Vasquez) of Delta, Utah; James Lee Eugene Daley; and Evangeline Aurora Marz Daley of Santaquin, Utah. He was a proud grandfather to Killian Banks Daley, Emersyn Lynn Vasquez, and Maple Kay Daley, and he eagerly awaited the arrival of his fourth grandchild, Hazel Vasquez, expected in April.
John had a deep love for the outdoors and found peace and joy in fishing and camping whenever he could. He was known for his enormous heart and his willingness to help anyone in need, often giving the shirt off his back without hesitation. John’s infectious smile, quick wit, and constant joking made him unforgettable. He had a rare gift for making people laugh and feel at ease wherever he went. Though John faced struggles in his life, he met them with courage. In his final chapter, he was clean, hopeful, and truly loving life.. a testament to his strength and resilience.
John is survived by his wife, Tammie Daley; his children and grandchildren; his mother, Roberta Guillen; his grandmother; his brothers Gary Daley, Enrique Guillen, Darrell Daley, Jeremy Harris; his brother-in-law Daniel Thompson; his sister Maria (Nick) Molina; his sisters-in-law Kellydawn (Steven) Lindsay and Cyrena Thompson (Tosh) Bryce; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother Lucielle Meir; his grandfather Ned Daley; his father Blaine Daley; and his brothers Mikael Daley and J.T. Harris.A Celebration of Life for John will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends when arrangements are finalized.
John will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his love, his laughter, and the way he showed up for the people he cared about most.
