I knew Carl as a musician and as a colleague at Digital Technology. Carl was always cheerful and always excited about life and whatever he was doing. Carl brought his cheerful kindness to his long battle with cancer. He fought the good fight.

Carl's mom lived in my neighborhood in Orem. I went through the Computer Science program at the same time Carl did. He was a good friend to me in the program and was always kind. He served his mom well over the years as I would always see him outside taking care of the house. I also enjoyed many of the performances around town and enjoyed seeing him play guitar.
