John Leslie Lyman died peacefully in the company of his wife and family on January 14th, 2024, due to complications of multiple sclerosis. John was born on June 16th, 1944, to Frank Anderson Lyman and Virginia Porter in Delta, Ut Read Obituary
Thinking of your family with love at this time. I have so many fond memories, having had Jean as my wonderful YW adviser for several years, with John supporting from the sidelines. The Lymans were an integral part of our ward family in Los Alamos/White Rock! John was a remarkable man and your family is an inspiration. Prayers for your comfort as you miss him in the coming days.
John an I were neighbors friends. I began my missionary service for the church in January 1962 and served until 1964. I had been out 1 year in the Western Canadian Missionfield when to my surprise my friend and neighbor John Lyman had come to the same mission.We crossed paths once or twice, but I had been home from my mission a few months when John wrote to me informing me that they had baptized Brother Douglas. Every missionary for the past several years had worked with him, including me, but none of us were able to commit him to baptism- John, true to his nature got it done!
I’m saddened to hear of his passing, but grateful to read of a few of the remarkable things he has done. I always knew he was smart, but wow, what a great man (kid)’ I had as a neighbor and friend!!!
