John Paul Sorenson's Obituary
John Paul Sorenson was born on January 15, 1945 to John Teague & Margaret A. Sorenson in SLC, UT where he lived until he was 7 when his family moved to Roy where he was raised and graduated from Weber High School in 1963. John was the “baby” in his family to 3 older sisters Marian, Martel & Renate.
On April 26, 1963 John married his High School sweetheart, and love of his life, Penny Purser in the Logan LDS Temple. At the time of Johns passing they were 9 days shy of their 53rd anniversary. Together they raised 9 children who tried to no avail to drive them crazy! Lori, Marty, Kristin, John (Diane), Mike (Diane), Matt (Neely), Kelly (Clay), Kathy (Dan) & Kim (Carlos). They were also blessed with 39 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren who all love them very much.
John had a busy and exciting life doing a variety of things that he loved, and even a few he could have done without. He retired from Morton International at the age of 45 due to his health but continued to fight for many years to remain on this earth and be an example of Faith, Love, hard work and determination for his family.
John passed away on April 17, 2016 and was welcomed “Home” by his Father, Mother, sister Renate, and grandsons Roy, Brandon & Gabriel.
Johns viewing will be held Thursday, April 21st from 6-8 pm and Friday, April 22nd from 10:00-10:45 am.
