Jordan Omel Contreras' Obituary
Jordan Omel Contreras, 35, of Spanish Fork, Utah, passed away on March 16, 2026, at the Utah Valley Hospital.
He was born on January 22, 1991, in Provo, Utah, to Vanessa Contreras de Paz. Jordan graduated from Hattiesburg High School in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, in 2011. He was awarded a scholarship to attend Pearl River Community College in Poplarville, Mississippi, and later received a basketball scholarship to Utah State University Eastern in Price, Utah. He went on to serve in the Army National Guard.
Jordan was known for his sense of humor and playful spirit. He loved connecting with people and engaging in meaningful conversations on a wide range of topics. He was intelligent, thoughtful, and always willing to stand up for the underdog. His politeness, kindness, and gentle nature left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Even in his passing, Jordan’s generosity continues to bless others. He was an organ donor, and two recipients have already received life-saving kidney transplants. Additional organs and tissues have been donated to help others and to support research.
He was preceded in death by his beloved abuela, Maria Ernestina Niño de Contreras, whom he loved dearly. We find comfort in knowing they are reunited. He was also reunited with his grandfather, Jesus Angel Paz.
Jordan is survived by his loving parents, Vanessa and Raul Paz; his brothers, Santiago and Samuel; his grandfather, Omel Contreras; and his grandmother, Silfa Cila Villalobos de Paz.
