Jose Luis Ascua's Obituary
Jose Luis Ascua
March 3, 1953 - April 30, 2023
Our sweet, loved father Jose Luis Ascua has retired from his life’s journey and has now reunited
with his late parents.
Silvana Gonzales Montero, Miguel Ángel Ascua Brey and his siblings that had gone before him.
Four siblings survive him.
He was the fourth of eleven children, born in Roldan, Santa Fe, Argentina on March 3, 1953. He
had many hobbies, some of them were listening to all kinds of music both in Spanish and
English, which he used to express his deep love and emotions toward family and life. He
enjoyed reading poetry and was always challenging himself to learn new things on his own.
He joined the Argentine Marine at a young age where he served for four years as a radarest,
expanding his ability to calculate complicated mathematical equations in seconds, which was
one of his favorite ways of challenging himself. He loved being adventurous, traveling, and
serving his country. He was first introduced to the United States when his Marine ship docked in
New York in the 1970’s’s when his desire for the American dream lit a spark inside his heart.
In 1990 he moved his young family to Utah looking for a better future for them all. He worked
hard in all he did, learning was one of his best attributes, and he never gave up on anything he
set his mind to until he accomplished them, some objectives taking him years. He loved being a
handyman in the city of Orem, providing for all of his family's needs and even having time to
provide service to the community.
He and his then wife, Susana Garcia, had 5 children, Paola, Silvana, Luciana, Pablo and
Federico. And now has 19 beautiful grandchildren, who survive him, we’ll all miss him deeply.
He was kind to everyone around him and anyone he met, making them feel his love for life, his
loving character and his desire to extend a helping hand even if they didn’t know they needed it.
Even though he will be missed by all who knew him and our hearts are broken, our memories of
him should forever be treasured. He loved his family above all things, and from now on we all
have a guardian Angel watching over us. May Heavenly Father surround you in his loving arms,
comfort and protect you until We Meet Again.
