He was born in Ogden, Utah on November 1, 1926 to Melvin Earl and Amanda Ingram Arnold. Upon graduation from Provo High School in 1944 he enlisted in the Navy. Proudly serving aboard a minesweeper during WWII. He was discharged in October 1947. He married Edna Chiles in 1948 whom he had met 4 years earlier when she came from Iowa to visit her brother Austin in Provo. They had a wonderful life together raising a daughter and two sons. He worked for Mountain Bell Telephone for 36 years. Going from hand setting poles between Price and Green River to District Plant Manager, retiring in 1982. He loved to camp in remote places in his younger years, he read voraciously, and enjoyed watching sports. They enjoyed their many trips all across the US and traveling throughout Europe.
