Joseph "JoJo" Russell Brecheen's Obituary
Joseph “JoJo” Russell Brecheen, 51, of Bountiful Utah, passed away on May 27, 2025, at home.
Born on August 25, 1973, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Hollis Andrew Brecheen, Jr and Sharyn Phyllis Chakov. He graduated from Amite High School, Amite, Louisiana where his senior year he was crowned the prom king. It was a highlight of his high school career.
Joseph often talked fondly about his Arizona Pheonix Mission, 1995-1997, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He had a very strong testimony about the church.
He had a strong love for animals and was never afraid to talk to everyone he met. If someone sneezed, he’d say, “God Bless You” even if the person was across the parking lot. He was always willing to make someone laugh with a cheesy Dad joke.
Joseph was an avid gamer and enjoyed outdoor activities like fishing. He loved to put on a good BBQ. He was a Raiders Football fan.
He is survived by his mother, Sharyn Chakov-Brecheen, his older brother, Marc B. Brecheen, sister, Holly-Nicole Kirshman, nephews and niece: Skyler Brecheen, Wesley Brecheen, Travis Brecheen, Jessica Brecheen. Joseph is preceded by his father, Hollis Andrew Brecheen, Jr.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 S 200 W, Bountiful, Utah.
