Josetta Rose Nair (Jones)'s Obituary
Josetta Rose Jones (Nair) was born on June 16, 1955, to Clarine Ely and Joseph Jones, Sr. Her early passion for acting, singing, sewing, and writing was matched only by her academic excellence, leading her to pursue a degree in economics at Stanford University.
Throughout her life, Josetta found success in various fields, including teaching music and selling insurance and makeup. Her proudest accomplishment, however, was the loving family she built with her best friend and husband of 33 years, Segran Nair. Together, they raised three sons who were the source of her pride and joy.
Devoted to her faith, Josetta was a cherished member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She found great fulfillment in serving in various callings, particularly among the youth and children.
Josetta peacefully departed this world on the evening of November 29, 2023. Her infectious smile and laughter will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarine Ely and Joseph Jones, Sr., and her stepfather, Clyde Porter. She is also reunited in heaven with her sister, Angelica Porter, and brothers, James Porter and Gordon Porter.
Josetta is survived by her devoted husband, Segran Nair, and their three sons: Dr. Solomon Nair (Amanda), Joshua Nair (Audrey), and Ezra Nair (Alana). Her legacy lives on through her nine beloved grandchildren: Gideon, Dameon, Zarion, Takodon, Emerson, Mari, Bertina, Benjamon, and Lautoka.
She is also survived by her cherished brothers, Joseph Jones, Jr. and Timothy Jones, and beloved sisters, Brenda Porter, Dr. Estella Jones, and Shaelomena Jones. Josetta leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and fellow church members who will forever remember her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love.
May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
