Joyce Edna Grimsley's Obituary
Joyce Edna Grimsley
1942 - 2021
Joyce Edna Grimsley passed away peacefully after a long illness in the morning of December 30, 2021, in Mapleton, Utah.
Joyce was born to Mary Louise McFarland and Boyce Lynn Greene on September 23, 1942, in Provo, Utah. She was the little sister to Todd and big sister to Chad and Marcia Greene.
The family didn’t have much money but tried to find inexpensive ways to have fun. They went camping a lot and both of her parents were big roller-skaters! In school she loved to sing and said it brought her great joy. Her parents divorced when she was young and she learned how to work hard and be a single mom from her mother, who was a great example to her. She attended West High School in Salt Lake City until she got married and became a mother. She is survived by Roger Grimsley, her 2 daughters: Sherri Allen Boyles, and Debbie Allen Buda (Jerry), 6 Grandchildren and 12 Great-grandchildren, and her siblings: Todd Greene (Connie), Chad Greene (Linda), and Marcia Culley (Charlie). She also had 2 little boys that passed shortly after birth.
She worked hard all her life to provide for her girls. For a while she worked at Tooele Army Depot until she was injured and received a medical retirement. That didn’t stop her. She loved working with people and owned and operated a Diet Center in Pleasant Grove. She really enjoyed traveling the country on the truck she and her husband Jim owned and operated, but her favorite job was in sales at JC Penney. She loved all the people she worked with and the people she got to meet every day. She worked hard to give her girls a better life.
It’s hard to describe the hole she is leaving here as she continues to her next adventure. She will truly be missed.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Grace Bible Church, 239 South Main Street, Springville, UT with a viewing prior to services from 10:00 to 10:30 am. Interment will be following services at the Lehi City Cemetery.
