Joyce Elaine Lambrose Hammer's Obituary
Joyce Elaine Lambros Hammer passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, at the age of 66 in West Valley City surrounded by family.
Joyce was born on September 13, 1959 in Salt Lake City to Ernest T and Emma North Lambros. She was the youngest daughter and second to the youngest child of 6.
Joyce married Jim Hammer on May 19,1984. Together they raised Joyce’s four daughters.
Joyce was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished nana, sister, daughter, and friend. She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, sharing laughter, stories, and the meals she lovingly prepared. Joyce especially enjoyed going to Mexican restaurants with her daughters, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Trisha Marie Beristain; her parents, Ernest T and Emma North Lambros; her brothers, George and Eugene; brothers-in-law Pete Sandoval and her Marty Hobbs; niece, Annette Larsen; and her nephews, David Hobbs, Lance Lambros, Joshua Sandoval; great-nephew Brayden Larsen.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Jimmie Hammer; her daughters, Suzette Beristain (Julius), Cynthia Padilla (Pete), and Laura Torres; her 14 grandchildren — Jessica, Francisco, Omar, Demetrie, Selena, Isaiah, Ramon, Kaiah, Monika, Elijah, Isabella, Julius (“88”), Victor, and Jaxon; and her 12 great-grandchildren — Graciella, Ezra, Dalton, Dylan, Amias, Paisley, Ariella, Leah, LuzElena, Mila, Zenayda, and Enrique; siblings, Linda Hobbs, Phyllis Sandoval, Grant Lambros (Lisa).
Joyce adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren beyond measure. Being a Nana brought her endless joy, and her love, warmth, and strength will continue to live on through each of them.
A celebration of Joyce’s life will take place at Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park, 17111 1700 West, Bluffdale, UT 84065 on May 27,2026 at 12. Viewing will start at 11.
The family would like to give a special thank you to her sister and best friend, Phyllis Sandoval and her husband, Jimmie Hammer for taking care of her for the past year and the hospice center, Ability Home Health & Hospice for the care they gave her in her final days.
Joyce will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew her.
