June De St. Jeor Neilson's Obituary
June De St. Jeor Neilson (Granny June) June Neilson, 87, passed into the arms of a loving Heavenly Father on Easter, April 20, 2014 at the home of her daughter in West Jordan. She was born in Provo, Utah to Calvin De St Jeor and Clara Marie Jensen on June 15, 1926. She attended school in Provo and graduated from Lincoln High School. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She married Jay Hales Neilson in the Salt Lake Temple on Valentine’s Day 1946. She lived in the same house in Provo for 65 years. She retired in 1996 after working at Provo High School Cafeteria for 30 years. Her husband, Jay, died June 6, 1958. She raised her two children alone. She will be greatly missed by her many grandchildren and friends. We will miss her infectious giggle, gentleness, quick wit, and unexpected humor. She loved to crochet and sew. She loved to cook for her family. No one left her home hungry. Everyone loved to visit her house because she collected a variety of interesting boxes to investigate and things to play with. She enjoyed attending the many school and sporting events of her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Dale and Merlin and her sister Elaine De St. Jeor. She is survived by her daughter, Leslie Ann Clark (Richard), West Jordan, and son, Christian H Neilson (Penny), Wallsburg, Utah, 9 grandchildren; Sharlyn Ungerer, Laralyn Stewart, Brice Clark, Andrew Clark, Alisa Garlick, Amber Larson, Nathan Neilson, Josh Neilson, Garret Neilson, and 30 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday April 26, 2014 at the Dixie Valley Chapel, 6500 S. Dixie Drive (3655 West), West Jordan, Utah. Viewings will be Friday April 25, 6:00-8:00 at the chapel and 10:00-10:45 prior to services. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. in the Provo City Cemetery
