Kaja Arendrup Hall Hald's Obituary
Kaja Hald’s obituary
Kaja Hald (62), of Provo, passed away on July 31 after having put up the hardest fight ever against colon cancer for about 1½ years. On August 7, at 11:00 a.m. the funeral service will be held at the Provo West stake center located on 2530 W 200 S in Provo. Kaja was born April 23, 1958, to Flemming and Ellen (Ganne) Hall. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University, in 1981, and her master’s degree in 1987 in Teaching English as a Second Language. Her thesis received national recognition and a copy of it is stored in the Library of Congress. She married Flemming Hald September 14, 1996.
Her commitment and love of the Savior and her family was great. She loved family history, hiking in the mountains and the beaches. Her greatest love in life was her family.
We wish to thank all who helped Kaja during this most difficult period of cancer including the YSA 15th stake, and the Lakeside 14th ward. A few went above and beyond: 1. Birthe Champenois who is Kaja’s best friend in life, and always had time to listen and uplift Kaja when she felt down; she came and read books for Kaja and filled her life with joy. 2. May Brit Reyes, an old friend of the family, who cooked for Kaja during the winter months when Kaja could not eat normal food, after her huge operation; she would make countless small freezer bags with delicious soups and other homemade Danish cooking which helped Kaja heal quickly. 3. Gitte Ronnenberg, Kaja’s life-long friend from Denmark, who always had time to talk with Kaja and lifted her spirits with comfort every time Kaja received her chemo treatments.
Kaja is survived by her husband, Flemming Hald, her two children, Jonathan Hald and Emma Rodriquez, as well as her four siblings, Thea Hansen, Ken Hall, Alice Christensen, and Mirka Robinson.
