Kara Williams Van Vossen's Obituary
On January 24, 2022, Kara Williams Van Vossen lost her battle with Covid-19. Kara’s passing left a giant hole in all of our hearts. She followed her father Jack Williams after his passing only one day earlier. He lived with the Van Vossen family up until a few years ago. They were very close.
Kara Williams Van Vossen, 45, was born September 11, 1975, to Jack and Kay Williams. She was the youngest of five siblings, Jan, Doug, Chris, Matt and then little Kara.
She grew up exploring the outdoors with her family. She loved mountain biking, hiking, camping, fishing and floating rivers. Tragically her life was taken from us way too soon.
She married her teenage friend Derek Van Vossen on October 4, 2000, whom with they had two incredibly kind and loving children, Abby and Adrian (Ian) Van Vossen. She was selfless with raising her children, making her home beautiful, and always put her family first.
Kara enjoyed the outdoors, right to the end of her short life. She would climb a 12,000’ mountain just because. She volunteered as a coach on her son Adrian’s Bonneville High School Mountain Bike Team and she loved her mountain bike family. She also supported her daughter Abby’s volleyball career by never missing a game and rarely even missed a practice. Kara also loves her volleyball family.
She supported her children through any adventure they ever set out on. She was always there and will always continue to be there as they continue their journey without her.
She and Derek were an incredible couple. They picked each other up and supported each other through thick and thin. Kara will always remain in his heart, a voice of encouragement in his head, and a tear in the corner of his eye.
The family and all that knew her, are grieving the loss of this bright shining star.
There will be a celebration of life in the next couple of weeks to be announced on Facebook.
