Karen Christensen Cushing's Obituary
Karen Christensen Cushing aged 83, passed away at home on October 29, 2025, in Farmington Utah. She was born on November 7, 1941, in Palo Alto, California, to Robert and Ethel Taggart Christensen. She was the oldest child of five children-Karen, Becky, Robert, Norma, and Charles. She grew up in Bountiful, Utah. She graduated from Bountiful High School in 1960. She married Rulon Cushing July 14, 1964. They moved to Levittown, New York for a job opportunity and lived there for about 15 years. They divorced in 1980 and returned to Utah.
Karen was extremely talented at most anything creative. She really enjoyed knitting, crocheting and embroidering. She had a love for reading and she especially loved her grandkids. If you stopped by you could count on her having a fridge full of diet soda and bowl full of candy to share. She never had much but what she did have she was always generous to give to others. She will be missed.
She is survived by her sons Jon Cushing, Kory (Fran) Cushing and daughter Becky (Brian Blood), 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Wendy (Kurt Bayles) in February 2023.
We would like to give special thanks to the people at Country Care in Farmington for their love and compassionate care. Karen absolutely loved the people there.
Karen’s Celebration of Life will be an open house held Saturday, November 22 from 10:00 am to noon at the Bountiful tabernacle 55 South Main Bountiful Utah.
