Karen Lynne Lougy's Obituary
Karen Lynne Lougy (58) the firstborn child of Dennis Leroy and Lynne Bates (Curtis) Lougy, Came into this world on a beautiful spring day, on April 23,1966, in Salt Lake City,Utah.
Karen is an amazing woman of faith, who loves her Heavenly Father and her Savior Jesus Christ with all her heart. She has a strong love of Missionary work, and loves sharing the Gospel and The Book of Mormon with all she can. Karen has always exemplified this love in the way she lived, worked, served and interacted with everyone. She is a Beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
After courageously battling several health problems, Karen sweetly and bravely said her good-bye’s to this mortal life, and to all her loved ones as a beautiful autumn sun set behind her on Sunday, October 13, 2024, in Ogden, Utah. All who were present felt so blessed to have had time to laugh, cry, talk and sing with her as she awaited the moment for her to step through the veil to awaiting loving family and friends beyond. It was a beautiful gift for all who were there.
Karen led a life full of a love of serving others. Though she did not have the chance to marry and have her own children, she was a loving aunt who spoiled all her nieces and nephews whenever she could. She loves them as she would her own. She never let birthdays or Christmas go by without a gift for each one, AND their parents, even when she only had pennies to her name. She is a creator. She created beauty. Whether it be in homemade crafts, gifts, ceramics, treats, or homemade porcelain dolls.
Karen graduated from Tooele High School, and Weber state College, where she studied Arts and Language, and worked in the customer service field using her Spanish language skills as often as she was able.
She faithfully served an 18 month Mission to Montevideo, Uruguay, and was so happy when there was a Temple built and she was able to take the trip to attend the dedication.
Karen loved traveling, especially with her younger sister Deanna, they were able to see different parts of the world, the US, Europe and South America. She loved Disneyland and how it made her feel young every time she went.
Karen also had a special place in her heart for animals. Most especially her cats. They brought her joy, and she loved the companionship they brought her.
She will be missed by so many who love her. She was preceded in death by her parents Dennis and Lynne Lougy, and younger sister Deanna Lougy.
She is survived by 4 younger siblings their spouses and families… Bryan and Nancy (Cragun) Lougy, Sherri and Siosifa Mahe, Matthew and Wendi (Draude) Lougy, April and Todd Larsen. (Also included are 16 Nieces and Nephews, and 11 great Nieces and Nephews.)
