Karen M. Perkins
June 1940 – December 2017
Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and friend, Karen Margueritte Cole Perkins, 77, passed away early morning on December 29, 2017. Karen was born in Salt Lake City on June 29, 1940 to Clifford and Dorothy Cole. She graduated from South High School and was married to Anthony Brigg Perkins on October 15, 1958. They were married a long 59 years while enjoying a life full of kids and grandkids.
Karen worked for Associate Food Stores for 28 years alongside family and friends until she retired. Upon retirement Karen and Tony enjoyed life as snowbirds traveling to Yuma and Quartzsite, AZ. They enjoyed the sun and outdoors, and with that came one of her other favorite things, camping and jeeping in Moab. She was a big animal lover, enjoyed gardening, making fresh apple and cherry pies, and loved sewing. The family always loved her giant quilts of love filled with extra fluff.
Karen is survived by her loving spouse, Anthony Perkins; 5 children, Diane Ferdon, Anthony Perkins Jr., Lisa Kesler, Jeanene Coesens, Andrea Strang; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, and sister, Margo Cole Anderson.
Services for Karen will be held Tuesday, January 2nd, from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at the LDS Church at 3836 W. 4100 So. West Valley City, with graveside services to follow at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 W. 4100 So. West Valley City.
