Karlene Dawson Greenwood's Obituary
Karlene Dawson Greenwood 83 of Layton, Utah, our beloved and sweet Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great Great Grandmother, and Sister passed away at home on December 27th, 2022.
Karlene was born May 28th, 1939, to Harold John and Doris Marston Dawson. The oldest daughter in a family of five children.
Karlene grew up on a small farm in Layton Utah. She regularly helped with the farm work and beekeeping with her dad. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served the church in many different roles. She attended and graduated from Davis High School. She married (later divorced) Dan Burt Greenwood they had four children. Michael Dan Greenwood (son), Darren Karl Greenwood (son), Kellene Shannon Greenwood (daughter), Danielle Holly Adams (daughter).
Throughout their marriage, they traveled and lived in many different places (Sacramento, Monterey, Tracy, Barstow California), Belgium, Germany, and Korea. Karlene loved to travel. She worked for the Department of Treasury and retired after 16 years of service. Later in life, she enjoyed scrapbooking and cardmaking but most of all her family. Karlene was happiest when she was with her children and grandchildren. She is so very loved and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her brother Mark Dawson (Bernita), Son Darren Karl Greenwood (Angie), daughter Kellene Greenwood, daughter Danielle Adams, and grandchildren Donavan Fredrickson, Tiffany Fredrickson, Austen Greenwood (Justene), Cassadie Greenwood, Healey Adams, Dawson Adams, Holly Adams, Joseph Adams and many great grandchildren. Karlene was preceded in death by her son Michael Dan Greenwood, Sister Joyce Dawson Barker (Gary), brother Lowell Dawson (Joyce), and her sister Patricia (Patsy) Sue Dawson Morris (Dale).
Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 11th, 2023, at 12:30 pm.
