Katherine June Hurlbut
June 21, 1921-November 10, 2022
Katherine June Hurlbut age 101, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the home of her amazing caregiver, Patricia Maldonado on November 10, 2022. Aunt Katherine’s goal was to live to 100, which she happily surpassed due to the loving care she received from Patty.
Katherine was the oldest sister of 5 siblings, she is survived by her sister, Mrs. Nadine Conta Butler, and her youngest brother, Wayne Conta. Predeceasing Katherine was her brother Frank D. Hurlbut, a highly decorated WWII ACE, and her twin sisters, Marilyn Hurlbut Ressler and Claralynn Hurlbut Christensen.
Katherine followed her brother Frank’s patriotic duty to our Country and served in the WAVE program entering service in July, 1943 as a SEAMAN First Class in the NAVY.
Katherine will rest with her sister Marilyn next to their mother Mary Huddy Hurlbut Conta. Thank you for your service Aunt Katherine. Forever may you WAVE, be happy and free.
There will be a short service held for Katherine on the 07th of December at 1:00/1300hrs at Premier Funeral Home, 67 E 8000 S, Midvale, UT. .
The internment will feature the Veteran’s Administration conducting military honors with a gravesite flag ceremony at the Salt Lake City Cemetery located at 200 N St E. Please feel free to attend if you would like to pay your respects and celebrate a centenarian veteran’s flag service.
