Kathleen "Kathy" Connelly Pyles' Obituary
Kathleen (Kathy) Connelly Pyles peacefully passed away on September 15, 2011 at her home in Heber City, Utah after diligently battling breast cancer. Born in Columbus, OH on November 8, 1950 she was the first of seven children born to Myles and Rita Connelly. A courageous spirit, Kathy overcame many adversities in her life including a brain tumor in 1973, and the sudden passing of her husband Robert A. Pyles in 1986. Kathy had many passions that exemplified her strength, compassion, and positive outlook. A single mother of two children and avid animal lover, Kathy provided for her family working in Utah as a nurse in long-term care centers. Motivated to become a nurse by her own personal struggles, Kathy was more than an inspiration, dedicated to the nursing profession for over 20 years. Kathy continued working through her cancer treatments until three weeks ago. Kathy is survived by her two children, Robert and Rachel Pyles (UT), her parents (CA), 5 siblings; Marianne Fittingoff, Myles Connelly, Colleen Klebanoff , Michael Connelly (all in CA) and Eileen Stone (WA), 10 nieces and nephews and numerous friends. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Robert and sister, Maureen Rutledge. Kathy will join her husband in Calimesa, CA where family services will be held. All are welcome to celebrate Kathy’s amazing life at a memorial service, to be held in Heber City on September 30th at 325 East 500 North at 12:00 noon. The family would like to thank the Huntsman Cancer Institute for their diligent care and treatment, and everyone who has supported Kathy and her family during this difficult time. Condolences can be sent to [email protected]
