Kathleen Susan Fimon Nelson Goss' Obituary
Kathleen Susan Fimon Nelson Goss was born on June 22, 1946 in Hutchinson, MN to Agnes and Richard Fimon. Kathy was baptized as an infant and confirmed later as a youth. She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1964.
On June 14, 1964 Kathy was united in marriage to Warren Nelson at Faith Lutheran Church. They were blessed with two children, Kenneth and Angela.
Kathy had various jobs, but her favorite was at Kay’s Bridal Shop in Kalispell, MT.
Kathy made and gifted hundreds of afghans, loved baking and decorating cookies with her grandchildren, and sending letters and cards to family and friends. No one could “out card” Kathy. She was known as Nana not only to her grandchildren, but to most people. She loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed when they would stop by for a short visit or an extended stay. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren gave her such joy. She also loved her “Wubbas” (dogs), Kandi and Bristol. Kathy’s faith in Jesus was evident and she shared it with others.
When Kathy needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident of Draper Rehab in Draper, UT on December 5, 2024. She passed away peacefully on
January 9, 2025. She was a blessing to all who knew her.
Kathy is survived by her: Children, Ken Nelson and his wife, Karla of Hutchinson, MN, Angela Novotny and her husband, Dave of Herriman, UT; Grandchildren, Tommy Novotny and his partner, Jacqueline Miller of Hyattsville, MD, Ken Nelson and his wife, Haunani of Yuma, AZ, Sarah Crosby and her husband, Steve of Bluffdale, UT, Kurt Nelson of Yuma, AZ, Kane Nelson and his fiancé, Samantha of San Diego, CA; Great Grandchildren, Tavin, Noelani, Clayton, William, Madeline, Vivienne, Wyatt, Luke, Elysia, Tucker, Cecilia, Kawehi; Siblings, Darlene Baune, Donnie Fimon, and Richard Fimon, Nieces, Nephews, many other relatives and friends.
Kathy is preceded in death by her Parents, Agnes and Martin Rettman, Richard Fimon; In-Laws, Martin and Ruth Nelson; Siblings, Darrell Fimon and Valerie Fimon; Brother-In-Law, Alvin “ Bud” Baune.
Cremation will be through Premier Mortuary in Draper, UT. Burial will be at a later date.
A Celebration Of Life Open House will be at the Novotny home on January 15, 2025 from Noon - 7 PM, 5798 W Moon Shadow Drive, Herriman, UT.
