Kathleen Norma Johnson's Obituary
Our beautiful Mother, and Grandmother, Kathleen Johnson, returned to her father in heaven after her battle with dementia. She returns to her beloved parents, LeRoy and Ivy Mitchell, and many other family members and friends. Kathy was the most beautiful person that you would ever meet, and always a smile on her face! She loved spending time with her children, Robert Brewster, Jeff Williams, Kaylynn Ennis, Ray Brown, and Angela Brown along with her 12 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. She worked for many years at the Sherriff’s Office as a Secretary.
She loved passing the time doing puzzles of animals and especially of her family, her creations of stained glass, and everyone loved the seasons because of her notorious fruitcake. She enjoyed her pictures and scrapbooking, I guess you would call it. It is definitely something that you would need to see! If she wasn’t at home she was probably out on one of her trips to Smiths, which seemed to be her favorite place for a daily adventure. She did a lot of genealogy work for the church, building history and family trees. She enjoyed reading many, many books about religion. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, and basking in the sun with her best friend and beloved husband Ray A. Johnson (7/12/2018).
Ray and Kathleen married in Elko, Nevada on January 30th, 1980. They both lived a wonderful life together. They spent time cheering at their grandchildren’s sporting events, going on road trips together, and making memories. Ray was a well know Social Worker for the VA Hospital, helping Veterans through their traumatic experiences, and teaching them to live better lives. Many suffered from PTSD, homelessness, and psychological challenges. He served 6 years himself in the Army, being recognized for his services. He was a quiet man with few words, as he may have been analyzing all the different personalities in our family. He reunited with his wife, Kathleen, who made sure that they would have an eternal and everlasting marriage. They were sealed together on December 17th, 2019. We will always carry her memory in our hearts. ‘I am always with YOU!’
