Kathy Sue Blair Cote's Obituary
Kathy Sue Blair Cote passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025, at the age of 79, in Bountiful, Utah. We are her friends and former neighbors for more than 40 years and have had the pleasure of getting to know this fascinating woman. We sometimes told her that her life story was interesting enough that she should write about it. Some of the life experiences she shared with us were extraordinary.
She studied the art of hair dressing under Vidal Sassoon and earned degree as a Cosmetologist and as a Master Esthetician. She had an extensive clientele at her business and was literally famous along the Wasatch Front and belonged to a number of business organizations locally. As a young lady she grew up in Santa Monica where she was an avid surfer and accomplished roller-skater. She spent many hours with wounded Vietnam soldiers at the Veterans Hospital there. She bought a racing Volvo that she affectionately called ‘Baby’ and her driver ran it at the Bonneville Salt Flats course, winning a number of trophies and awards. As all of us who knew Kathy understood, she danced to the beat of different drum! At times when she was relating stories of her experiences we would have to ask her to slow down and compose her thoughts so we could keep up. She had an incredible eye for art, cars and antiques. She loved listening to Barbara Streisand. She was a talented gardener and photographer. She worked for the benefit of educators and animals. She was an accomplished genealogist and after extensive research took her extensive study to the Library of Congress where it was filed. Kathy had a heart of gold and spent many hours helping others, sometimes to her own detriment. On her passing we had many calls from people who shared about how she had helped them and wondered if they could do anything to show their appreciation. Kathy is survived by her son, Billy Pasawarat of California and brother Mark Blair of Arizona, and countless friends.
