Katrina Draper's Obituary
Katrina Draper, 76, passed away into heaven on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 2:45 am at the Lone Peak Hospital in Draper, Utah. She died of natural causes due to ill and declining health. Katrina has been a resident of the Draper Rehab and Care Center in Draper, Utah, since 2012.
Katrina was born on December 16, 1943 at the Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City and at birth was placed in the care of the Children’s Service Society of Utah. Her foster parents Elmer and Ivie Larsen had the privilege of caring for her for a time while waiting for her to be adopted. They loved her very much. Since Katrina had health issues, she was never adopted but was placed into the care of the State of Utah. At age 2 ½, she was transferred to the care of the Training School now called the Utah State Developmental Center in American Fork, Utah where she was raised. When she was 27 years old, with the help of social workers, she was sent to live in a care center and has spent her life living in various care centers under the watch of social workers and even spent some time in a group home.
Katrina was never given a legal name at birth but was called Twinkle and Patsy by social workers. She didn’t like those names and as an adult chose her name to be Katrina Draper which was legally added to her birth certificate.
Throughout her life, Katrina had many special friends that made her life happy and fun. She loved her diet coke, coffee with vanilla ice cream, and shredded wheat for breakfast. Katrina will be missed by her friends and many who cared for her and came to love her.
Her viewing will be Wednesday, March 11, 2020 from 10:00 am to 10:30 am at the Premier Funeral Services located on 67 East 8000 South in Midvale. After the viewing, she will be interred in the Ogden City Cemetery next to her foster parents Elmer and Ivie Larsen.
