Kay Maree Fox Edgel's Obituary
Kay Maree Fox Edgel, beloved wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025.
Kay’s warmth and compassion lifted everyone she met. With a heart full of love, an unforgettable laugh, (and an amazing lemon cheesecake), Kay dedicated herself to her family, friends, and community. She found purpose and joy being a devoted wife and mother.
Kay married Reed Edgel in 1981 and became a stepmother to his five children. She and Reed shared 45 happy years together before he died in March 2025. Kay is survived by her daughter, Leslie Kay Potter (David), Bill Edgel (Tricia), David Edgel (Carol), Michael Edgel (Tony), Todd Edgel, Heather Edgel Dodd, 14 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. She is also cherished by her surviving stepchildren with her second husband, Dr. Harold Max Cutler (deceased, 1978), and her surviving siblings, Elaine Maxwell, Dianne Coombs (Earl), and Ken Fox.
Kay’s unwavering faith, her commitment to the gospel, and her selfless service were her most defining characteristics. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life. She served in many capacities, often as Relief Society President, where her compassion and leadership nurtured and guided countless women. She also served as a Salt Lake Temple worker for over two decades, offering her time, energy, and love in support of the sacred work performed in the temple. Kay’s passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her legacy of love, faith, family, and kindness will endure in our memories of her.
A viewing will be held on Friday, October 31st from 6-8 p.m. at Premier Funeral Home, 67 East 8000 South, Sandy, UT. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, November 1st at 10 a.m. at Memorial Lake Hills, 10055 South State St., Sandy, UT. The funeral will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1361 East 4000 South, SLC, UT.
