Kay Diane Wilkerson Hunter's Obituary
Kay Diane Wilkerson-Hunter born August 10th, 1944 in Twin Falls, Idaho, and passed away peacefully on January 6th, 2021 in Provo, Utah.
Kay was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, and friend who lived her life serving others.
Kay had many talents, but her best was her cooking. The aroma from her house hit you as soon as you opened the door and you knew you were about to have one of the best meals of your life. Perhaps in a tie for first among her talents were her baking skills. The goodies she made in her own kitchen over the years rivaled any shop in town. At Christmas time, each child and their families were presented with a heaping plate of baked goods. It was something everyone looked forward to every year.
Kay loved her grandchildren. She spent countless hours playing board games and card games with all of them. They loved having sleepovers at Nana's/Grandma's house. She loved taking them for treats and even got a few of them hooked on her favorite drink, Chocolate Diet Coke. Sleepovers became legendary to all of the grandkids as they all still have stories they tell to this day of their adventures with her.
There are some people just born to do things in life. Hers was to be a mom. You could not have asked for a more perfect mother. We knew we were loved and we knew we could always count on her for anything. There are memories we all have with her that can fill a lifetime. We know there are Angels that exist here on earth. We were lucky enough to call one Mom.
Kay will be missed by many. We can an all take comfort in knowing that there is a joyful reunion going on in Heaven with those who preceded her in death.
Kay was preceded in death by her Father John Wilkerson, her mother Ruby Wilkerson, Brother Lloyd Wilkerson, Father-In -Law Duaine Hunter, Mother-In-Law Montez Hunter, and Son Randall Duaine Hunter.
She is survived by her husband Ronald Hunter, children Trudi Budd (Mike), Sheri Gonzales (Robert), D.J. Hunter (Kristie), 9 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren, Nieces Tawnia Furukawa (Calvin and children), Carrie and Tammy Wilkerson, and Nephews Tony and Marko Wilkerson and Rich Barenberg.
Our deepest gratitude goes out to Provo Rehab where mom spent the last months of her life. A very special thank you to her Nurses Makayla and Mae who went above and beyond their job duties for mom and our family.
