Kaye Jeanne Child's Obituary
Kaye Jeanne Child
April 7, 1956 - June 30, 2021
Everyone loves Kaye! Kaye Jeanne Child was born with beautiful green eyes and bright red hair to Ralph and Phyllis Child on April 7, 1956 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Kaye has always been remarkable! Her loving mom and dad had high expectations for her from the beginning and Kaye exceeded all of them!
Kaye attended Holladay Elementary, where she learned to read and write, the Hartvigsen School, and the South Valley Workshop. Kaye had “best pals” everywhere she went. She was always smiling and saying how much she loved her family and friends, giving big hugs, and making bunny ears on people in photos.
Kaye had a remarkable memory and brilliant mind. She remembered the name of each person she met—old school friends, neighbors, teachers—and if her family was ever stumped, Kaye knew the answer. Kaye was an excellent swimmer, a wonderful reader, enjoyed riding her two-wheeler bike and swinging on the swing set, and she always liked to tease! She loved her birthdays and excitedly reminded everyone that her next birthday was coming up soon.
Kaye loved her family and being at home, although she was always ready to go out to eat, for a ride in the Sperry’s RZR, a trip to Disneyland, or cheering on her family at any of their activities.
Kaye loves Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ever since she was baptized by her dad in the Salt Lake Tabernacle at 8-years-old. She loved to bear her testimony, joyfully sing the Primary songs, and help teach Primary with her mom and sister. Kaye never wanted to miss an activity with her Special Needs Mutual and she dearly loved her friends, especially LeAnna, and her youth counselors, and leaders there.
Kaye is very loved and will be missed by her mom, her sisters Liz (Howard) and Deanne, her brother Scott (Lori), her nieces and nephews and their families, along with her many “best pals.” We know Kaye’s dad welcomed her to Heaven with a big hug…and maybe a Coke…and that we will all be together again someday.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 3, 2021, 11:00 am at the Creek Road Chapel, 2115 E. Creek Road, Cottonwood Heights. Interment will be at Mountain View Memorial Park, Cottonwood Heights.
