Kenneth Dean Amodt's Obituary
Kenneth Dean Amodt passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 20, 2026, in West Jordan, Utah, at the age of 71.
Kenneth was born on November 24, 1954, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Clarence Carl Amodt and Patsy Valoy Wilson. He grew up in Salt Lake City and attended Judge Memorial High School, where he formed friendships that lasted throughout his life. Kenneth treasured those lifelong connections and remained in touch with many of his childhood friends over the years.
Known to many as "Uncle Kenny," he spent much of his working life behind the wheel. In his younger years, he earned his Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and enjoyed a career as a professional driver. Later, he drove for Yellow Cab, where he found genuine joy in meeting new people, sharing stories, and brightening the days of those he transported. His kind spirit, easy conversation, and friendly nature left a lasting impression on countless passengers.
Kenneth was a man who valued family and relationships above all else. He had a warm heart, a welcoming smile, and a gift for making others feel comfortable. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be remembered for his sense of humor, his generous spirit, and the genuine care he showed those around him.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Carl Amodt and Patsy Valoy Wilson; his sister, Patricia "Patty" Kuronya; his brother, Carl Gene Amodt; and his beloved son, Cassidy J. Hawkins.
He is survived by his brothers, Steve Amodt (Doremi) and Danny Kuronya; his nieces, Danielle Kuronya, Shaye Kuronya, Kasea Amodt, Steffine Amodt (Lee), and Gabriella Amodt; his nephews, Jeremy Kuronya, Christian Kuronya, Zackariah Amodt (Kayla), Elijah Amodt, and Damion Amodt; as well as many cherished great-nieces and great-nephews, whom brought him tremendous joy. He also leaves behind many extended family members and lifelong friends who will miss him dearly.
Kenneth's memory will live on through the stories shared by those who knew him, the friendships he nurtured over a lifetime, and the love he gave so freely to his family. Though he will be greatly missed, his legacy of kindness, laughter, and genuine connection will continue to live in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know him.
