Kenneth “Ken” Anthony Martinez
January 19, 1954 - December 27, 2024
Ken Anthony Martinez, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away on December 27, 2024, at the age of 70 surrounded by his family. Ken was born on January 19,1954 in Durango, Colorado to Domacio and Ceilia Martinez. He later moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where he met Linda Jaramillo, and they were married on September 15, 1973. The couple settled down in West Valley City, Utah to raise their two children.
During high school Ken played on the football team. He graduated from West High School in 1972. After graduation he spent 38 years working at Superior Insulation, where he met many special friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and many camping trips with family and friends to Rockport Reservoir. He enjoyed coaching his son’s baseball teams throughout the years and attending his daughter’s softball games. After retirement, Ken enjoyed attending Chicago Bears Football games as well as NASCAR races with his son. He spent many hours doing countless puzzles and playing games on his Ipad. He also enjoyed attending all of his granddaughters' dance performances.
He is survived by his wife Linda Martinez and 2 children: Shane Martinez (Mendi), Mindy Jensen (Rick), one grandchild: Maddie, brother: Michael Martinez, Randy Martinez (Barbara) and his many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Domacio, mother Celia, brother David, grandparents and mother-in-law Lilia
His family would like to thank the ICU doctors and nurses at both West and South Holy Cross locations for the care that was provided during his final days.
Celebration of Life will be held on January 25, 2025, from 1:00pm - 4:00pm at The Cove at Herriman Springs Clubhouse, 6894 14800 S, Herriman, UT 84096. Lunch will be served.
