Kenneth Lynn Mecham's Obituary
Kenneth Lynn Mecham was born on March 18, 1946, in Murray, Utah. His parents were Albert Alpheus Mecham and Nellie Larsen Mecham, and he was the fourth of five children. Kenny passed away on August 5, 2021, at Welcome Home Assisted Living in Bountiful, Utah, after a long battle with multiple health problems.
Kenny grew up in Taylorsville, Utah, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He graduated from Granger High School in 1964. Shortly after, he was drafted into the Army where he served two years in Germany.
Ken had worked as a carpet layer for several years and later was employed in the plumbing profession. As a young boy, he loved to go deer hunting and fishing with his family. As an adult, along with hunting, he also really enjoyed camping in the west desert and exploring old mines. Some of his other hobbies were leather working, reading Utah history, and rock hunting.
Ken is survived by his son Eric Lynn Mecham, his brother Glenn (Shawna) Mecham, and his sister Jolene (Frank) Welch. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Shirley Wardle and Evelyn Robison. A special thank you to the staff at Welcome Home Assisted Living in Bountiful. He really appreciated their service to him during his stay there. A private family service will be held at a later date.
