Kim Hansen 1957 - 2020 There are many ways you may remember Kim Blackson Hansen. A loving wife, a supportive mother, a doting grandmother, a caring friend, an admirable coworker, or smiling face waving from the porch. She was all of these things and more. However you first met her, you would have been struck by her infectious personality, her smile, and her laughter. Kim always had a sense of humor and a quick wit. She was so sharp, able to whip out a snappy remark without missing a beat, and could always make those around her laugh. It was always said if she didn't joke with you, she didn't like you. Knowing her was to witness how open she was to adopting people into her life, and her heart. She collected friends everywhere she went - whether it was the inspection team at work, servers at her favorite restaurants, neighbors, or the hospital staff, they would love her, and she would love them right back. Her capacity for caring was endless - when you were with her, you felt like part of her family. Her home was always open to those who needed a place to be themselves, a place to feel comfortable and safe. She felt happiness in knowing that she was like a second mom to all of her children's friends. You could never forget her selflessness and compassion, having watched her put the needs of her friends and family above her own without the slightest pause. She would listen to your stories with genuine interest, and you always felt she truly cared to know how you were doing when she would ask you. Despite her busy life, she always managed to be invested in your life, supportive of your goals, be happy for your accomplishments, and aware of what mattered to you. Her children remember how supportive she was of each of their hobbies and passions, and how she made time for every school and sports event. Her grandkids remember all their fun adventures with grandma like the weekly sleepovers, movie nights, and of course, the trip to Disneyland with the family. Her husband remembers how she was always by his side to support and love him. She was beautiful, his soulmate, and extended her grace to him every day. You were amazed at her vivaciousness, her passion for adventure and play. She would look forward to snowmobiling and skiing in the winter, and was always ready to go boating, off-roading, and camping. She was eager to share her free time with loved ones in the bowling alley or on a golf course, and still somehow had the energy to schedule shopping trips, getaways to Wendover, and evenings at the theatre. She knew that adventures meant more when enjoyed with the people she loved - and so, she was constantly giving us the gift of mutual experiences and shared memories. She left a mark on this world, and her light will live on through the memories you cherish of her, the lilies in her garden, and the sunflowers you see every summer. We love you, Kim. - Kim Hansen, 63, died on Monday, October 19, 2020 at her home surrounded by family and friends after her brave battle with lung cancer. She was born on May 2, 1957 to Robert and Eleanor Blackson. She married Brian Hansen on October 2, 1987. Kim grew up in Uintah and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1975. She raised her children in Harrisville before retiring with her husband in Farr West. Kim gave nearly 40 years of service as a US Defense Civilian before retiring. Her friends and coworkers with the 414th and 448th were like a second family to her. She is survived by her husband, Brian Hansen; her three children, Sadee K Hansen, Cassiedie Jo (Cameron) Cowperthwaite, and Seth Cody Hansen; her grandchildren, Clinton and Callie Cowperthwaite; her mother, Eleanor Blackson; and her sisters, Tracy Blackson and Barbara Schneither. She was preceded by her loving father Robert William Blackson. There will be a celebration of life scheduled for a future date.
