Thanks for serving in the singles ward in Spanish Fork, where my daughter, and now son in law attended. Kind people are never never forgotten.
I served on the high council with Bro. Jones and enjoyed working with him. He was always encouraging and often funny. Sad to say goodbye to this good man.
We loved going to Gospel Doctrine when Kumen was the teacher, he was so interesting, intelligent and inspiring. It was always great when he mentioned "those Utah Mormons"...if you grew up in Utah, you knew exactly what he was talking about. 😊
We enjoyed hanging out with you guys, playing games, dice, and going to dinner.
We have some great memories that will always be with us. When my father passed away, I got a card that had a thought I really loved. I thought I'd share it with you too...
WE'RE NEVER REALLY READY
We're never really ready
when a loved one leaves this world.
There's always so much left we want to say.
We long to turn back time
and tell them all that's in our hearts.
We think, "If only I had one more day."
We catch ourselves recalling
little moments that we shared
and smile at every sweet "remember when."
We tell our favorite stories,
and we laugh and cry and sigh,
and somehow we feel close to them again.
We're never really ready
when it's time to say good-bye, but slowly we accept what has to be,
letting go of what we must
but keeping those we love forever close in memory.
Kuman asked my husband to be a part of his band to play at his high school reunion. It was a great joy for my husband, and they were able to play at various other locations, including the local nursing home, and even for our church Christmas party. During a break in their performance at the party, I was able to speak to Kuman. He knew his death was imminent, and we spoke for a moment about what he meant to me personally. I let him know how joyful it was to be able to attend his Sunday School classes and feel welcomed and appreciated for my comments and contributions. He was gracious and kind, as always. I loved his gentleness, humor, and overt expressions and testimony of faith.
I only had the privilege of knowing brother jones for 16 months. His lessons were the best I have heard. I learned so much from him in the short time of knowing him. He always had a smile on his face, kind words to say and so much love of the Gospel.
Bro. Jones was such a great friend, teacher, and example to me. Although I have not seen him in years, I have frequently thought of him and his dear wife and have appreciated the love and concern they always showed towards me. He will be very much missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you Sis. Jones and family!
Brother Jones was a great mentor of mine. We was one of the first men I met when I moved to Spanish Fork. He took me and helped teach and guide me in my various church leadership roles. I loved listening to him speak and teach. He commanded our attention and helped all who could hear him to be a better person. He will be missed greatly.
Bro. Jones is a big part of the reason I am who I am today. He made you want to be a better person. I was always amazed by his diligence, his wisdom and his ability to smile and make everything seem alright. Truly one of the elect few great men of this world!
