Kurt Brent Engelke's Obituary
Kurt Brent Engelke
April 16, 1963- January 20, 2023
Our loving Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, and Grandpa passed away on January 20, 2023, in Ogden, UT.
Kurt was born in Ogden, UT on April 16, 1963, to Karl F. Engelke and Leona J. Visser (Engelke).
He married Leslie Cottam at which point he was graced with three beautiful daughters who he loved dearly. They were later divorced.
He later met and married the love of his life Cheryl Carter and gained two handsome sons, and two beautiful daughters who he cherished and loved as his own.
Kurt was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was one that would always make sure to tell everyone how much he loved them. He was very kind, down to earth and all-around good man. He is one that would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need and expect nothing in return. He was a jokester who had an infectious laugh. He enjoyed sitting in his chair reminiscing with friends and family of the past while making more memories. He was all about his family. He loved to support his family in whatever they were doing. He loved spending time with family, watching football especially his favorite team Denver Broncos (Go Broncos), and doing anything outdoors. You would find him next to a lake with his fishing pole watching the animals in the distant while enjoying the serenity of nature. In his downtime, he enjoyed doing puzzles while watching his western and action movies.
He worked at Admiral Beverage Corporation for many years before he and Cheryl moved to New Mexico where they lived for ten years. He worked as an Accessioner at Genzyme. He later found his passion as a Security Guard at The International Folk Art Museum. He had fond memories of everyone he worked with. While in New Mexico, he would spend his days exploring the city and learning about the architecture, culture, and history of New Mexico. He then later moved back to Utah to be closer to family. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, uncle, and friend. We will miss him very much! We love you!
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl. His three daughters, Kiersha Engelke, Raymi (Cody) Meacham, Mecaela (Zack) King.
