L. Dianne Shepherd
1944 - 2016
Our beautiful mother, Linda “Dianne" Pryor Shepherd, passed away peacefully Thursday April 28, 2016 and returned home to her Father in Heaven. We know from our knowledge of the gospel and the great plan of happiness that she is now in peace, free from the cares of this world.
Dianne was born on May 23,1944, in Hollonville GA, the daughter of Raymond and Erma Pryor. At the age of 11 she moved to Texas where she lived the majority of her life. She was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when she was 24 years old. This momentous event changed her life forever. Her example of living the gospel was evident in all that she did. She loved The Savior and had unwavering faith. She had a firm testimony of the gospel and bore it often.
She married Michael Owen Shepherd on June 23,1984. They shared a divine love for 32 years. Dianne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Being a mother was the most important priority throughout her life. She often expressed that her family was her greatest joy. Her unconditional love and kind heart was felt by all that knew her. She was always willing to be a listening ear when someone was in need. She made friends wherever she went and was a stranger to none. Her gentle kindness will truly be missed.
Her father and mother, Raymond and Erma Pryor, her sister, Barbara Martin and her brother, Wayne Pryor, precede Dianne in death. She is survived by her brothers, Ray Pryor and Mickey Pryor, her husband Michael Shepherd, her daughters, Tammy Kelley Garcia and Cretia Tinsley (John), her sons, Todd Kelley (Bobejo), David Shepherd, Peter Shepherd, and Chris Rainey, 11 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in Dianne's honor 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 225 East 200 North, Orem UT. All are welcome to attend the viewing prior to services at the church from 9:30-10:45 a.m.
Our family would like to express gratitude to the many relatives and friends who have shown their love and support to our family through this difficult time.
