I had my one and only encounter with Lacey standing in line at Walgreen's near her office on Highland and 3300 South on New Year's Eve, nine months before her accident. We talked and laughed for over an hour about everything and nothing. I was totally enchanted. I envy all of those who got to share their lives with her. It takes an extraordinary spirit to make an indelible impression on a total stranger in such a brief meeting. I know she will be deeply missed. But, I have a feeling that incredible spirit was simply too big and too strong to be confined near on earth.

All my memories of time spent with Lacy are happy, delightful, and uplifting. From day one when I first met her in her office. Her talent for healing my aching back pain was amazing and I told her I wanted to come once a month for life... I remember times spent with her after the accident, taking her out side to see the flowers bloom in spring. she loved looking at them and touching them. She enjoyed watching and naming the fish in the big tank in the hall at the rehab center. I remember giving her a soft blanket, she love to feel and the toothbrushes she like to have within reach because she wanted clean teeth. We enjoyed calling her mom, Lyra, each time I visited so she could have a that mother daughter connection that she so needed at that time... We often spoke of spiritual things and one day when I came to visit, she excitedly told me she had found God. She said her accident was all worth it because she found God... I know she is happy as she, now, is communing with our Heavenly Father and those spirits she has always known.... I look forward to the day I will great her again in that home we all share up above.

I met Lacey while becoming one of her patients in Holladay. My brother had seen her first and raved about how she had gotten rid of his chronic back pain. I then went to see her for pain in my neck. She was always so calming and soothing and I always left her office feeling better. I remember my neck pain flaring up again and calling her and trying to get an appointment. She wasn't returning my calls, which wasn't like her. I went into her office to see if I could reach her there and that's when I learned of the accident. I am still so sad that happened to her, she was young, strong, beautiful and full of life. I felt that if anyone could come back from an accident like that it would be Lacey. I didn't know the magnitude of her injuries until later but what an amazing, special, beautiful on the inside and out, smart and gracious person Lacey is. I think of her every time I drive by her old office on Highland Drive and I will always remember when she called me back one time immediately and said she could hear the pain in my voice. This surprised me because I thought I was talking in the phone like I always do, but how right she was, I was in a lot of pain. I know Lacey's body is now back to its perfect form and she is happy but all of us here still on this earth will miss the bright light of Lacey Picard.

Years ago Lacey and I flew from Cincinnati Ohio where we lived to John Wayne Airport in Newport Beach to enjoy a little mother/daughters time. We were joined by my daughter Monica who was to be married the following week. The three of us spent the next few days taking a leisurely drive up the California coast. Lacey was the most delightful traveling companion. She kept us entertained with her wonderfully intelligent and off beat humor. She also took the most amazing photographs on the trip. Since we all loved sweets the car was packed with lots of yummy junk food. Lacey proceeded to make fabulous photos of artistically arranged jelly beans among other odd choices for subject. Somehow they worked wonderfully. Lacey's creativity, intelligence and love of life usually kept any party hopping! Her unique personality lit up any room she entered. I will miss her terribly.
