Lacy Jean Shurtz's Obituary
Our precious perfect angel, Lacy Jean Shurtz, returned to her Heavenly Father April 30th, 2012.
Born on April 3, 1986 in Layton, Utah, Lacy contracted spinal meningitis, resulting in the privilege of her parents caring for her for 26 miraculous years. Her favorite person was her Daddy, who will truly miss her, and her Mother’s arms will ache to hold her, yet we are so happy for her that she is free. Although she could not walk, talk, or see, she continually expressed love towards others through her smiles and sweet coos. She loved to hear music, loved ones voices, her name, and “I love you”. She taught us much by her example and was able to touch the lives of all who met her. Her amazing strength allowed her to endure all of her struggles well. She returned with honor, choosing to be ever patient, grateful, loving, diligent, and expressing charity for all. We cherish every moment we had with her and will strive to live so that we can go where she is someday.
Lacy’s loving family missing her here are: Glenn and Rena Shurtz, her siblings, Jordan (Charissa), Lisa Seeley (Jeff), Felicia Stone (Jake), James (fiancée Janae), Michelle, and her extended family who love her very much. Lacy is reunited with her sister, Sharla Shurtz, Uncle Daniel Shurtz, Aunt Tina Hubbard, and Grandmother Lillie Mae Shurtz.
The viewings are Friday, May 4th 6-8 pm and Saturday, May 5th 11:30 am -12:30 pm. Funeral services: Saturday, May 5th at 1 pm. All services held at the 8th Ward LDS church: 838 East 600 South in Clfld, Ut. Interment will be at Clearfield Cemetery. Lacy’s family would like to express a special thank you and love to all the extended family, friends, ward, school, medical professionals, and all others who have also loved and helped Lacy.
