LaMar A Potts' Obituary
LaMar A. Potts born January 17, 1941, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2023. LaMar
graduated from Olympus High School and joined the United State Army and the Utah National
Guard where he was honorably discharged. Thereafter, he was employed by EIMCO, Hercules
Aerospace Company, and South Valley Specialties. In recent years LaMar enjoyed spending
most of his time camping with his family.
LaMar spent many years coaching Little League Baseball and drag racing on the Killer Bee
Racing Team where he created many lifelong friendships. After retirement he and his wife
Elizabeth (Liz) spent their winters as volunteers at the Lake Mead National Recreation area and
the summer as Camp Hosts at the Gooseberry Campground.
LaMar is survived by his wife of 60 years, Liz, and children Suzanne and Brandon, sister
Carolyn Wilson and grandchildren, Brandon L.J., Matthew, Kolton, Lexie, his dog Ozzie and
many nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a celebration of life later this summer at LaMar’s favorite place, the
Gooseberry property.
