LaPreal Thacker Allison's Obituary
LaPreal Allison, age 72, died March 21, 2011 in Provo, Utah at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. She was born 13 March 1939 in Price, Carbon, Utah to Fay Elgie and Thaylia Watson Thacker. LaPreal was raised in Castle Gate, Utah and attended BYU. She married John Samuel (Bud) Allison 28 August 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised 4 children in Clearfield, UT, and then retired in Provo, UT. LaPreal was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served as Ward Primary President, Young Women’s President, Relief Society President (twice) and Stake Relief Society President. She served as a Temple Ordinance worker and was a faithful visiting teacher. She and her husband served a part time service mission in a Church Employment Center, and a full time mission in Peoria, Illinois. Recently she served as a Gospel Doctrine teacher. At the time of her passing, she was serving as a Laurel’s advisor and truly loved the young women in her ward. Surviving are her husband, four children Debra Allison, Prescott, AZ; Chris (Rochelle) Allison Rexburg, ID; Jalair (James) Hoff, Highlands Ranch, CO; Brent (Melanie) Allison Austin, TX; and 11 grandchildren: Joshua (Teresa) Stephenson, Stephani, Aubree, & Kamberlee Allison, Jennifer, Benjamin, Allison, & Camille Hoff, and Tyler, Cory, & Bo Allison. She had one great grandchild, Liam Stephenson. Also surviving are two brothers: Harry (Leah) Thacker Phoenix, AZ; and Weldon (Chadley Ann) Thacker Bountiful, UT; Three sisters: Fern Anderson, Pleasant Grove, UT; Helen (Lloyd) Gheen, American Fork, UT; and Marilyn Leifson Provo, UT. Preceded in death by her Parents; a brother, Kent, and sister, Ella. Services will be Friday at 11:00 am at the Harbor Park Chapel located at 2225 W. 620 N. just off Geneva Road. Friends and family may call on Thursday from 7:00-9:00 PM, and on Friday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at the Harbor Park Chapel. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery at 2224 S. 200 W., 2:30 PM Friday. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Humanitarian Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
