Laura Sue Thairs' Obituary
Laura Sue Thairs passed away peacefully Monday 10th February after an almost 2 year battle of cancer.
She was born to Thomas and Barbara Sherman 4th June 1968 in Scottsdale Arizona. Laura grew up in Scottsdale with her parents and younger sister Julie Ann Sherman. Laura grew up with Cerebral Palsy, but never let that stop her. Laura participated in sports when she was young, and went on to take classes and work at Scottsdale community college. She later on went to Rick’s College (BYU Idaho) graduating with her generals in 1998.
Laura served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Bristol UK mission from 1989-1991. This is where Laura was able to find her love of the UK. Laura went on to meet Gary Thairs and got married and sealed 24th June 2000.
Laura shared her love of travel, Disney, history and photography with her 5 children, Charlotte, Michael, Elianna, Matthew, and James, through vacations and trips to visit Disneyland Paris, and historical sites throughout the UK and Europe. Laura loved to spend time with her 4 grandchildren; Daisy and Andrew, Axel and Briar; over the past couple of years. She loved to be called Nana and was so proud of that name.
