Laurel Ann Dillon's Obituary
Laurel Ann Dillon (62) passed away peacefully Nov. 1, 2013 at her West Valley home surrounded by loved ones. Laurel was born on Oct. 6, 1951 in Chicago, IL to the late Wayne and Jean Hungerford. She lived all over the United States due to her father being in the Air Force. They eventually settled down in Layton, UT where she attended Davis High School, graduating in 1969. She began her career as a civilian government employee with Hill Air Force Base in 1972. She had various jobs throughout her career including missile mechanic and propellant lab/ lab tech. She was an extremely hard worker and really enjoyed her work. She retired after 39 years in 2012. Laurel was married to Leonard Dillon for twenty years and had two beautiful children. Her life revolved around the lives of her children, being a huge supporter of all their goals and dreams and attended every important and special event. She became a proud grandmother in 2011. Laurel enjoyed traveling, swimming, reading, gardening, movies, music, attending live events and shows, and just soaking up the sun. She had an amazing and positive outlook on life and never sweated the small things. She was very down to earth and had a great sense of humor. She had a beautiful, caring, loving and generous spirit and was kind to everyone she met. She enjoyed helping others whenever she could. She will be truly missed, but her sweet spirit will forever live on in our hearts and memories. Laurel is survived by her son Brian Dillon, daughter in law, Lynlee Dillon and grandson Barrett Dillon of Virginia Beach, VA -- Daughter, Stacey El Fajri and son in law, Amine El Fajri of Salt Lake City, UT -- Two sisters Valerie Cole of Layton, UT and Tara O'Donnell of Warner Robins, GA -- One brother, Kevin Hungerford of Ogden, UT A celebration of life party will be held at Corbin's Grille (748 W. Heritage Park Blvd. Layton, UT 84041) on Saturday Nov. 9, 2013 from 12 pm to 3 pm. A lunch will be served.
