Laurel Marie Francis' Obituary
Laurel Marie Francis, age 71, passed away May 8, 2020 at her home in Mapleton, Utah. Born October 26, 1948 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado to Shelby Lafayette and Jean Laurel Mussared Strahan. Married John Kimball Francis Jr. September 2, 1964 in the Idaho Falls Temple.
Laurel graduated Capital High School in Boise, Idaho and went on to attend Boise College and University of Idaho. She was a homemaker raising 5 children and volunteered for 14 years at the Bucapulaa Library in Puerto Rico. Our mother was one of the best mothers that ever lived. She was an outstanding oral reader and family champion at Boggle. Laurel loved to travel and loved to learn. She served and loved others. Laurel loved her Savior Jesus Christ.
Survived by her husband of 50 years, John; children Kimberly (Matthew) Hanna, John Carl (Annette) Francis, Rebekah (James, deceased) Berg, Jill ( Landon) Beyler, Eva (David) Brown; 29 grandchildren, Matthew, Nathaniel, James, Elijah, Caleb, Joy, Joseph, Jonathan, Jack, April, Mason, Nicole, Sterling, Sadie, Leah, Owen, Hazel, Haley, Maren, Elsie, Kylah, Annika, Cole, Rachelle, Chase, Corbin, Levi, Logan, and Emery.
Private graveside services will be held Pony Express Memorial Park, Eagle Mountain, Utah.
