Laurie Leone Luck was born on July 7th 1955 to Geraldine Shreeve and John Allen Mickelson in Ogden Utah. Laurie was the oldest of six children. She was raised and educated in Arizona and shared many fond memories growing up there with her loving family. She attended Moon Valley High School in Arizona and graduated in 1973. Laurie was a brilliant concert pianist and recorded an album senior year with the school band. In 1974 her family relocated and moved to Farmington Utah. She studied to be an English major at the University of Utah.
Laurie’s many passions and talents were endless and a reflection of her rare and magnificent soul. She loved playing the piano and Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Tschaikowksy, and Bach were some of her favorites to play. She enjoyed writing music, stories and plays, reading and making beautiful multi-tier wedding cakes with intricate lace and flower details, and she made fantastic birthday and anniversary cakes, sewing, crocheting, tying quilts, gardening and planting all the flowers -white daisies were her favorite.
Laurie was a hard worker and took pride in her working career, holding down multiple jobs at times. She got her start as a teller for Walker Bank in Farmington, then she worked at the Davis County Recorders Office as Deputy Recorder, she worked as the Executive legal secretary for the Davis County Prosecutor Steven Vanderlinden and also worked as the District secretary for Radio Shack. She worked as a Deputy Constable for Davis county for several years. Laurie especially loved her job at E.G. King Elementary in Layton working for many years with the disabled students. She had a huge caring heart for animals and would always rescue any stray that was in need.

Laurie then married her soul mate and devoted husband David Luck on February 14th 1988 and they just celebrated their 35 year anniversary.
Laurie fought valiantly with many health struggles over the years and always remained smiling and optimistic. This year had been especially difficult for her but she never gave up. Laurie peacefully slipped through the veil in the early morning hours of Sunday May 21st 2023 surrounded by the eternal love of her family. The world is dimmer now without her beautiful bright light and we find comfort in knowing that she is free now and having a magnificent reunion in heaven.
