LaVee Chidester Thomas' Obituary
LaVee Chidester Thomas passed away peacefully in Spanish Fork, Utah surrounded by family at the age of 81.
She was born on March 20, 1945 in Price, Utah to Levi Parker Chidester and Reba Houskeeper Chidester. She was the second of four children and their only daughter. LaVee was raised in Mapleton, Utah and graduated from Springville High School in 1963.
On August 19, 1964 she married Glenn Arden Thomas of Springville. Together they raised two sons and two daughters, first in Provo and later in Springville. Occasionally, LaVee worked outside the home but was primarily a homemaker, teaching and raising her kids. Over the years, she shared her love of music, movies, games and genealogy with them. Her other hobbies included reading, quilting, sewing, crocheting, knitting and watching BYU Football.
She was the center of her family, sharing laughter, love and joy, creating and sharing memories. LaVee was a member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Ralph Chidester, Eugene Chidester, and Charles Chidester; her granddaughter, Natalie Sands; and her former husband, Glenn Thomas.
LaVee is survived by her four children: Lori Sands, Randy Thomas (Amy), Sherry Lawrence (Logan), and Michael Thomas (Suzanne). She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her tremendous pride and happiness.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 6:00pm at Legacy House 1449 E 150 S, Spanish Fork, UT 84660.
