LaVell Proctor Butt's Obituary
LaVell Proctor Butt, age 86, died October 21, 2015 in St. George, Utah. He was born December 7, 1928 to Bessie Vernell Proctor and Lavelle Butt in Roberts, Idaho. LaVell graduated from Weber High School and served in the U.S. Navy as a photographer during the Korean War.
He married Theda Lucile Bassett and together they had four children. They later divorced. LaVell enjoyed going to the races, photography, cameras, rock hunting and telling stories.
LaVell is survived by his children, Michael (Clyda) Butt, Steven (Terrie) Butt, Gordon (Kittryn) Butt, Neesha (Douglas) Dalrymple; siblings, Diane (Raughn) Taylor, Dennis (Kathleen) Butt, Dwight (Linette) Butt; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents and sisters Ardis and Vernell.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Southern Utah Veterans Home. A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 29 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Copperview 2nd Ward, 12210 South 2700 West, Riverton, Utah. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 30 at 11:00 am at the Copperview 2nd Ward, 12210 South 2700 West. A viewing will be held an hour prior at the same location. Internment at Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park, 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah.
