Layne J. Evans' Obituary
Layne J. Evans, a beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather whose infectious sense of humor brought joy to all who knew him, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in South Jordan, Utah, at the age of 67.
Born on May 5, 1958, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Layne’s life was defined by his love for the outdoors, a knack for tinkering, and his playful, teasing spirit. He found his greatest happiness while hunting and fishing, and nothing compared to the summers spent with his family at the cabin, a cherished place where countless memories were made.
Layne had a great capacity for love, which he showered upon his family, especially his grandchildren.
Layne is survived by his three children, Daniel (DJ), Jack, and Lacey; his loving mother, Mickey (Jensen) Evans; his sisters, Karla Soria and Jackie (Evans) Webb; and his brother, Larry Evans. He also leaves behind many other dear friends and extended family members who will miss his laughter and companionship deeply.
Layne was preceded in death by his father, Jack Allen Evans.
In accordance with Layne’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held during the summer of 2026 at the family cabin, allowing time for family and friends to gather and honor his memory in the place he loved most. Details regarding the date and time will be announced by the family later.
